Victory, then defeat

Earlier this week, Nacho's hometown favorite soccer team, Atletico de Madrid, won a European tournament and in doing so, made him a very happy fan. This is the team known more for suffering and messing up year after year, so the fact that they won a title was pretty impressive. Since Elisa has a jersey from Atleti, we felt it was only appropriate that she wear it again before she outgrows it. Here she is with Papa the morning after the victory...
We went out that morning for a little romp around the local park. It's always nice and quiet around 8:30 a.m. so it's fun to let Elisa have a good run around and then back home to nap. We ran into some friends who let us use their baby stroller. Elisa was in heaven.
Elisa didn't mind that there was no baby in the stroller. It was the constant pushing around and around that seems to please her most.
But of course all good things must come to an end. And sure enough, when it was time to leave the stroller and head home, Elisa flipped out. A nice tantrum always makes the naptime easier. Here she is in full meltdown mode:
As much as I love a victory, it's learning to deal with defeats that makes life so much more interesting, don't you think?
