Summer holidays

We just touched down in New York long enough to enjoy a few lazy days before heading to North Carolina for the 4th of July weekend. Usually this isn't my favorite time to travel considering how many other families are doing the same, but this year it turned out to be one of the last weekends to visit before we head to Spain at the end of the month. And so we are here in Jacksonville looking forward to the big Marine Corps fireworks extravaganza tomorrow night. Can't wait to see what Elisa thinks of that!
In the meantime, we hit the beach yesterday and are off to the Farmer's Market in town this morning. Nacho is ready for a full day of World Cup playoffs and if all goes well, we'll be celebrating a Spanish victory tonight with a homemade paella and lots of sangria to wash it down. The cool spell that brought 60 degree lows and dry air to this part of the coast is a welcome change from the normal July heat. All in all, it's shaping up to be a pretty stellar weekend. More pics to follow and let's all hope that Elisa likes the bright lights and noise of the fireworks as much as I imagine she will. Otherwise, we might be shuffling off to Grandma's just as things start getting good. We'll see!
