Today we took one more drive out to the Rockaways, chasing summer til the very end. The girls played and danced on the beach and in the surf. The water was cold but not inhibiting. My toes started to feel numb after a few minutes, but I wasn't moving nearly as much as they were. Nacho managed to get in one last swim despite having two girls clinging to his side. And I stood back and watched it all. It was a very good day. It might be the end of the summer for us, but that just means my favorite, fall, is coming. I'm ready.
