There's a weirdness to the first few days back after a vacation, especially in the heat of summer. Nothing like a pile of laundry and hot weather to keep you feeling bogged down. But this year, I at least has a whole week before Elisa's big blow out birthday so that was just enough time to really ease back into things and find a few fun distractions to finish off the summer in style. First up was a beach day outing in Long Branch, NJ with our Sunnyside crew. Kerry and Antoin have had a place there for a couple of years but we've never been out. So this week we found the perfect excuse to make a day of it and even the cloudy weather and threat of rain couldn't stop us. The kids enjoyed the beachside playground and we were able to take a dip in the ocean ourselves. My girls weren't interested at all in swimming so more fun for me! By the time they all came back to our area it was time to get home to eat and chill out.
