Memorial Day Weekend Blowout

Never fear that the rainy, chilly start of May that begins to feel like all you will ever know naturally has to give way to the hot, humid sticky end of the month known as Memorial Day Weekend. This year, the weather didn't disappoint and it began to feel like summer as we turned into the last week and approached our annual fundraiser at the park. Nacho had a busy week flying, but was luckily home that day to help me wrangle kids while I was volunteering. It was the first big event I've had to oversee and the ladies running it made sure to nail down all the details making my life much easier. We were glad to see the sunny skies kicking off the day, but of course a cloud or two would have been welcome. No dice. The day only got warmer and with no breeze, it proved to be a sticky one. As my girls showed up to play, it was clear we were going to need lots of tickets and treats to keep everyone happy. And I was more than eager to oblige. They really ran around the park this year without causing much trouble and they managed to eat and sit for a brief time before running off again. Elisa found a friend in her mystery boy Kieran (whose family I have yet to meet) and Carolina was happy enough to tag along and later find comfort in the shade with popcorn and an Italian ice.

And now for some video of Elisa's hip hop performance at the Memorial Day Fair!
